OJSC "SHIPYARD VOLGA"

Shipyard "Volga" has grown from a pilot production for the CDB SEC, which in 1950-1960 was engaged in the construction and testing of hydrofoils. Then the country's first hydrofoil passenger ships have been created: "Rocket", "Meteor", "Comet", the world's first all-welded hydrofoil ship "Sputnik". It was transformed into the "Pilot Plant" Volga "in December 1970 by order of the USSR Navy Ministry . In 70-80-ies on the factory were built unique ships - WIG: "Orlenok", "Lun", "Striz". In 1992 the plant was reorganized into OJSC " Volga Shipyard". Over the years, the plant built for export series of cargo boats on air-cavity "Serna" and passenger hydrofoil "Katran". block gas turbine power plant was built for Gazprom, and for the Ministry of Emergency Situations hovercraft SVP-500. The plant is also being built and refurbished comfortable vessels for walking and recreation on the water, including hydrofoil type "Dolphin" and cruise Jetskis.
The plant builds a variety of high-speed vessels: high-speed cargo ship on air-cavity "Serna" (4 of these vessels operate in the Baltic Sea and the Persian Gulf), the SEC "Katran" (4 ships delivered in Canada), pleasure boats on hydrofoils "Dolphin", high-speed patrol ships to air-cavity "Sokzhoy". Aluminum-magnesium alloy 1561 is used for the construction of high-speed vessels, specially designed for the WIG. He is not inferior to its mechanical properties the best foreign alloys, but exceeds them in weldability and corrosion resistance, so widely used in civil shipbuilding for the construction of the SEC and the JMC. Special technology used at the plant allows the build of this alloy hulls with minimal welding deformations.
